IREX Veterans Reintegration Program
History of the Project
The Veterans Reintegration Program has been implemented by IREX since 2019 with the support of the U.S. Department of State. The goal of the Program is to increase veterans' access to psychosocial and physical rehabilitation services by building the institutional capacity of governmental and non-governmental structures that provide these services, as well as expanding opportunities for vocational training, retraining and employment for veterans, especially vulnerable groups of defenders.
Mission
Improving the quality and accessibility of services for Ukraine's veterans involves expanding medical and psychological care, social benefits, educational and vocational programs, employment assistance, reintegration into society, and legal support.
Vision
Increasing veterans' access to qualified and high-quality psychosocial services and physical rehabilitation, as well as increasing employment and vocational training opportunities.
Areas of work
Expanding employment opportunities
- Training and retraining: The program supports partner projects that offer specialized training to improve veterans’ job skills. For example, through the Veteran Hub and their Praktyka project, we provide employment counseling for veterans and employment counseling for employers.

Increasing access to mental health services
- Training for professionals: IREX conducts trainings for professionals, including social workers who interact with veterans and their families.
- Online psychological assistance services: IREX supports the creation and development of online emergency services, such as MARTA and Baza.
- Psychological rehabilitation for veterans and their families: IREX supports organizations that provide psychological rehabilitation services for veterans and their families, such as the Veteran Hub hotline.
